Push 'your' limits in support of youth mental health

48 Hours

4 x 4 x 48 Challenge

Join Michael Neale & team in taking on the 4 x 4 x 48 "Goggins Challenge" in support of Youth Mental Health.

March 5th to 7th, 2021 starting at 8pm

Popularized by American fitness guru and navy seal David Goggins (www.davidgoggins.com), this gruelling challenge involves running or walking four miles (6.4km), every four hours for 48 hours.

Toronto media executive and recreational runner Michael Neale enjoys looking for challenges, in recent years that has meant attempting ultramarathons, which can be anywhere from 50K to 160K.

Having previously completed a 160-kilometer event while raising funds for The Maddie Project, the father of three has accepted the fact that all races are now virtual, due to the Covid pandemic.

Seeking inspiration for a virtual event that is an incredible mental test as much physical endeavor, 4 x 4 x 48 challenge appeared the perfect answer.

Bringing friends, community and people from wider afield for the ultimate New Year's Resolution, complete the challenge in the deepest depth of a Canadian winter, weekend of March 5th, 2021.

Creating a sharable event and the opportunity to raise funds through committing to a weekend of running with little sleep.

Join our team, you can walk or run or relay with a friend (split the challenge 50/50).  Please support us with encouragement for all the participants.

There is no entry fee, however participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of $250.  All participants who raise $250+ will receive a Push Your Limits swag bag (Canadian participants only).

All participants will receive a Maddie Project swag bag prior to the event, and a certificate of completion following the event.  Participants can send their tracking information to info@themaddieproject.ca following the event to claim their certificate.

All proceeds raised will support youth mental health on behalf of The Maddie Project (www.themaddieproject.ca) at North York General Hospital.  The Maddie Project is a community effort in support of youth struggling with depression and other mental health related concerns.
