About Rally in the Ravine

We invite our community to Rally in the Ravine — a run or walk event in support of North York General Hospital.

Participant Information

Age Limits, Registration and Guidelines

The 5K Run/Walk is a race the whole family can enjoy! Participants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a guardian. On event day, all participants under the age of 18 must have a guardian sign their waiver.
A reminder to participants that in-line skates, roller-skates, skateboards, bicycles and dogs are not permitted on the course. Participants with strollers, wagons or assisted devices are asked to follow marshal instructions during the race. (Children in strollers/wagons for the duration of the run/walk will not be charged an additional registration fee.) There is a 90-minute time limit for the event.

About the Garden Walk

The Garden Walk is a comfortably-paced walk around the NYGH grounds. The evolution of NYGH’s OrthoWalk — an event that raised funds for orthopaedic care at NYGH for nine years — is the Garden Walk, which will support areas of care across our hospital, including orthopaedics.

Corrals

5K participants will be grouped together, or corralled, based on the time they expect to complete the route (it is your best estimate). Setting up these corrals for our participants is important — it helps us keep runners safe and ensures a positive experience for everyone. Runners will need to select a corral (see options below) during the registration process.

5K Expected Finish Time Options:

Choose the option that you believe is the closest to your anticipated finish time.

Bibs and Race Kit

The 5K run/walk is a chip-timed race. Participants will be given a timing device. The race bib will act as your entry card to access the event. The Garden Walk and Kids Fun Run will not be timed, but particpants will receive a bib in their Race Kit.

Chips will be activated upon crossing the start line. Race bibs should be pinned, unmodified and fully visible on the front of your shirt throughout the entire race. Participants will receive their race bib with pins at Race Kit Pick-Up and will not be able to participate without them.

Racer results, which include your time and pace, will be posted online shortly after the event. Find your personal results here.

We ask that participants write their full name, emergency contact information and any allergies or health conditions on the back of their race bib, as this will assist emergency personnel should it be required.

Racer results, which include your time and pace, will be posted online shortly after the event. Find your personal results here.

Race Kit Pick-Up

You can pick up your Race Kit at North York General Hospital -- 4001 Leslie Street, Toronto, ON, M2K 1E1 -- in the Nanji Academic Centre, Auditoriums 2 & 3 (located on the ground floor by the Steinberg Family Tower Information Desk) on the following days:
