STARTING A FUNDRAISER

How do I get started?
To begin your fundraiser, register. Once you have registered, you will receive your own personal fundraising page, complete with tools to help you share information about your fundraising goals.

Can I hold two fundraising events at the same time?
Each 'Fundraise for NYGH' page requires a unique email address - you cannot use one email for more than one event. If you have previously held an event, and want to hold a different event with a different page, please contact the Foundation so that we can reset your account, and allow you to register your new page.

How do I know if I'm a New or Returning User?
You will be returning user with an existing account if you: have previously registered for OrthoWalk or are registered for Rally in the Ravine. Your login details will be the same. If you create a fundraising page and want to hold the event again at a later date, your login details will also remain the same.

How can my event be promoted?
After registration, you will have the opportunity to share your event details with us, and we will post them to the NYGH Foundation community events calendar if desired.

How do I spread the word about my fundraiser?
There are tools in your participation centre and Fundraising Tips that will assist you in emailing your contacts to announce your event and ask for donations.

Can a representative from NYGH Foundation attend my event?
We cannot guarantee availability, but if possible, we are happy to attend the event and say a few words, share information, and accept a cheque on behalf of NYGH Foundation.

More than one charity will benefit from my fundraiser, is that okay?
Please ensure that 100% of funds received through your NYGH fundraising page will be donated to NYGH Foundation. If NYGH Foundation is one of several beneficiaries, the exact percentage or amount of proceeds that benefit the organization must be clearly stated on all materials presented to donors.

Will NYGH Foundation sponsor my event or reimburse me for expenses?
We do not provide financial support or reimburse for Fundraisers for NYGH. If event expenses are being paid out of your proceeds, these costs should be deducted from the funds raised prior to sending the final donation check to NYGH Foundation.
